Faeries fly on prism wings
Faith and trust and happy things
Smiles and sweets, and all things light
Ghost stories woven in the night
But pixies are wrought from darker lore
Demons, bloodstones, grief, and gore
Hair like roses, charmed and meek
Now with tainted darkness streak
Innocence lost in the toil
Fear and anger start to boil
Sadness brought by mortal regret
The dark child's story's end was set
A coffer with a bloodstained core
Now the pixie's whole once more
#49) Pixie (Marvel)

There's been a rise in superhero movie and television series, and a lot of it just seems to continually wheel around the ones we all know. Don't get me wrong, I love Batman and the X-men as much as anyone else, but there are some possibilities that deserve the chance for a risk to be taken on them.

Enter Pixie. Not very impressive on first glance: voted most friendly student at the Xavier Institute with pink hair and faerie wings. The power to produce hallucinogenic dust isn't exactly badass. But then things take a dark turn real fast. A ghost story on a dark and eerie night, and then the tale-teller turns to her and says "Sorry for your loss". Pixie and her friends are cast into the hell of Limbo, and Megan loses a fragment of her soul: the space where it once rested now filled with dark magics. It was horribly traumatic, and it was a long and hard road for Megan to collect the bloodstones and the Souldagger that were torn from her very essence, but in the end, she became whole...thanks to Illyana, the woman who fragmented her soul to begin with.

Magic, demons, souls, and X-Men? I think that's the recipe for a good series, don't you?

Megan Gwynn (alias Pixie) belongs to Marvel
