The Sister's Opened a Store!

Hey y'all! Wow, been a while since I did one of these, eh?
Not much has changed in my life, but my sister down in Disney, KateNotKatie, has been working towards a Graphic Design degree and has really been making leaps and bounds to improve her artistic skill. Now she's opened up an Etsy store for her artworks, so if you feel so inclined, feel free to check it out!

I don't really do a lot of journal entries, but a fellow deviant could really use your support.

Mae's done some great work for me in the past, and her skills have greatly improved since then. She's trying to make it at Disney World (a difficult thing I know from experience) and has run into some financial troubles. My own funds have dropped significantly in regards to a recent investment for future retirement, so I'm unfortunately able to contribute, but perhaps a few generous souls would be so kind as to lend her a hand?

Our beloved sanctuary, the internet, is once again being threatened. The FCC is taking actions to abolish Net Neutrality, stripping it of its Title II designation as a utility, and allowing ISPs to regulate your usage, throttle your net speed, and censor whatever sites they wish. This of course, especially for us deviants, is a BIG PROBLEM.
As you may have seen in my gallery, I commission numerous artists, paying them for their services and supporting their livelihood, as well as their continued artworks. These artists RELY on the traffic they receive in order to keep themselves afloat and to practice their profession. If Net Neutrality is abolished, you may not even be able to visit this site anymore, and those artists, as well as many other talented and skilled individuals on this site, will have their traffic strangled, their livelihoods put in danger. As a community of people who celebrate the diversity and creativity of the internet, we cannot let this pass.
Even if you do not live in the United States, this affects you too. What was once a thousand views per day may drop to only ten. Where you may have offered commissions in batches, you may find yourself struggling to land a single customer.

Heyo, a fellow deviant MaeMacabre is having a bit of trouble with her art school tuition, and if she doesn't get some commissions run through soon, she'll be dropped from her classes.

That being said, Mae's done some good work for me in the past, and if you're so inclined (or otherwise just plain feeling charitable) I'm sure she'd appreciate the patronage. I'd lend a hand myself, but I've already chocked up another commission that's taken my excess dough for the mo.

Some of you may recognize her for her Nuzlocke comic starring her little blonde woobins Marigold, others for her fantastic paintings and portraits.
If you can't, then I kindly ask that you give her a signal boost as I've done here, and we can keep the good work flowing!

Woof, been a while since I last put up a journal. Not really much noteworthy going on in my life and I'm not one for oversharing. Prepping up for a possible Entertainment Stage Technician job at Disney, though that's going to be a long windup. Gonna work tech for a local theater group for a few years, then see if I can find a program in one of the nearby colleges that covers all the bases I'm looking for.
Writing muse has gone to shit, sadly. Haven't really been much inspired, so to pass the time I've taken to building characters for the tabletop game Pathfinder, and the Facebook group I'm in has really taken a shine to me over them. Got a campaign for the first time in months coming up next week, so yay me! I've commissioned several artists over this deadzone who have provided visuals for some of my favorite characters that I've built, and that's definitely perked me up some.
In fact, recently I was contacted by artist PalomaGouthier who wondered if I was interested in a commission...but my wallet needs time to recover. -__-; Even so, her work is positively AMAZING, and if you've got the moolah for it, I'd say it's definitely worth every penny.
So give her a gander and support her work if'n ye feel so inclined, and I'll be working my ass off in the meantime in the hopes of making it back to the House of Mouse.
